As part of my 51 Pegasi b Fellowship, and during my first years at Macalester, I worked with other astronomers, geologists, and technical scientists to examine the spectra of a variety of basaltic rocks and model how each would appear to the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) if it were the surface of an exoplanet.
